September Tax Deadline Misleads Many

Self assessment tax payers are suffering unnecessary worry as the real deadline for completed tax returns is 31st January. And with H M Revenue & Customs self confessed failure to process one in four tax returns correctly, trust in the service the tax office provides is at an all time low.

We provide a low-cost fixed-fee tax return service, providing tax payers with peace of mind and efficient service. We will complete the tax return, calculate your tax bill and submit it to H M Revenue & Customs for the 31 January deadline.

Trusted professionals and our highly qualified staff review all tax returns and look to maximise the allowance claimed and minimise the tax paid, saving you both time and money.

Mike Parkes, Tax Manager at the company commented:
"We are committed to providing an efficient service for tax payers that will end the September headache and concerns over the amount of tax being paid. We know from our customers that the September deadline causes unnecessary worry. Our service ends the worry about tax deadlines."

TWD Accountants offers a one off, low cost fixed fee for a full year's tax and accountancy provision (£169 + Vat) - perfect for the self-employed or small business. Operating throughout the UK for over 10 years, TW Accountants employs a team of over 90 experts.

SELF-ASSESSMENT TAX RETURNS : THE FACTS

- The deadline for submitting your 2006/07 tax return is the 31 January 2008.
- You will only receive the statutory £100 late filing penalty if your Tax Return is received after this date.
- You will not be penalised for submitting your tax return after 30 September 2007, as long as it IS received before 31 January 2008, despite heavy advertising campaign run by H M Revenue & Customs

There are two categories of people whom the 30 September deadline effects.
1. If you complete your tax return yourself and want H M Revenue & Customs to process the tax return and calculate your liability for you.
If the completed return is submitted before the 30 September 2007 then H M Revenue & Customs will guarantee to process the tax return and send a bill in time for payment on the 31 January 2008.
However, if you employ the service of an accountant then they should calculate your tax and advise you of any taxes to pay so the 30 September 2007 deadline again becomes irrelevant.

2. If you have a tax bill of less than £2,000 AND also have a PAYE source of income.

If this is the case and the Tax Return is submitted before the 30 September 2007, the tax office will arrange to collect the tax due from your PAYE source over a 12 month period starting April 2008. This is instead of paying a lump sum on the 31 January 2008, offering a cash flow advantage.

However, by employing the services of an accountant, such as TWD Accountants, who file their clients' Tax Returns online the deadline is extended from 30 September 2007 to 31 December 2007.
